Once the night falls

Deep in the forest lay ruins of the castle. The surrounding forest is old and difficult to travel sparing ruins from human impact. Great statues and sculptures were once the treasures of the castle, now many of them have been corrupted by time. Some of them, however, have survived. They evaded the destruction by becoming alive and achieving the ability to transform to the breathing equivalents of them selves.
Their life came with two condition: statues would be allowed to move only during the night and they had to be back at the castle's ruins by sunrise. If they failed these conditions they would lose their ability to move and then get slowly consumed by time.

Here would be one of the statues flying around after dark. I was inspired to make this little back story by the appearance of the dragon. It just looks so heavy and so serious.

I'm amazed how little time went into this, only about 4 hours (+ the actual lineart but I don't remember how much time that took).
